General Description

This genus contains those members of the family Narnaviridae that are associated with mitochondria (hence the genus name) and usually cause hypovirulence in their fungus hosts.

Morphology

There are no virions.

Genome

Monopartite, linear, single stranded RNA of 2300-2800 nucleotides.

Genus Genomic Organization

The genome has a single ORF encoding an RNA-dependent RNA polymerase.

Type Member Genomic Organization

There is one large ORF encoding an RNA-dependent RNA polymerase of 93kDa.
