Type member: Idnoreovirus 1

Contents

General Description

This is one of the animal virus genera in the family Reoviridae. It consists of viruses that infect insects, have 10 genome segments and do not produce polyhedra.

Morphology

Virions isometric (icosahedral), 60-80 nm in diameter, with two concentric capsid shells surrounding a core of c.50nm diameter.

Genome

Linear, double stranded RNA in 10 segments. Each virion contains a single copy of the entire genome.

Genus Genomic Organization

There are no completely sequenced genomes. From comparisons with other reoviruses, each segment probably has a single ORF.

Type Member Genomic Organization

There are no published sequence data.
